Looks like Udon has already unveiled its winners.
I didn't make it in. :(
Can't say I'm very thrilled by this. But I can't say I'm utterly shocked as well.
Truth be told, I wasn't really happy with my submission to begin with.

Anyone wanna see my art?
Here it is:

This is Jedah blowing a trumpet over the Darkstalkers.
The design is taken from the Tarot card Judgement.
The card depicts the event after the Christian Resurrection, before the Last Judgement.

In the original card, an angel is seen blowing the trumpet over the fallen people.
The people rise from their grave.
With arms held up high, they embrace the day of judgement.
I thought the whole motif fits Jedah's backstory well, in a backward ironic fashion.
Jedah is kinda like the anti-christ, what with him wanting to unite all souls under himself and all.

Ah, what's done is done.
I'd want to say that I gave my best. But I didn't.
One because of time limitations.
But mainly because I was really struggling with my piece. Frustratingly.
I lack any clear direction or motivation to draw anything decent.
So maybe, a better way to describe my effort is that I have done what I could given the circumstances I was in.

Really tho, thank you Udon for giving us fans the wonderful opportunity.
I'm sure the book will be great.

Huu.... okay.
Chins up, let's look into the future!

Some of you might know of the animated short that I did in 2006.
Death, Kitty & the Fat Man.

It was featured on Weebl's Stuff in early 2007. Was well-received. I was delighted!

It got lots of reaction from people all over the web. Some thought it was cute, others thought it was sad. Some could predict the ending. I was overwhelmed by the sheer gratitude that was expressed towards my animation. Today, I still get some feedback e-mails from time to time, and it is always a joy to read them.

Last week I got a mail from Kim Brown, US.
It was a nice simple letter, but it came with a request at the end:
"I was wondering if I may do some fan art of it for you."

My face just lighted up from that point.
I want to share with everyone the present that she gave me.
Please enjoy them. They're pretty!

And a darker complexion.

What can I say? I love all of them!
I like the last one the most, because it strays away from my style and just developed itself into this new, twisted direction. And who doesn't love that mischevous look on Kitty? :3

This is 2 of my many wonderful colleagues at work. That's Tatsu on the left and Miyauchi-san on the right. We celebrated their birthdays last week. With cake!

I find this picture very amusing. On one side we have this guy with super enthusiastic face, like you can tell he is totally going to enjoy eating that cake. And on the other side is this girl with a seemingly innocent smile, but then you see her holding that huge knife, you feel a bit scared.

I think these two would make a great anime duo. 8D

Now here's a pic to start the year!
This pic reflects my enthusiasm for 2009.
It is not a joke. I will face this year with high optimism! Bring it on!

What else is there to look forward to in daimation?
Well for starters, I will be updating the site with a new artwork every Sunday.
(at least I hope I to!)
This movement will be aptly named: "Lazy Sunday Sketch".
Don't let the name fool you. It might be a lazy sunday, but the art will still be crafted with my full tender love. :)

Lazy Sunday Sketch will also have its own blog, which you can view here.
The blog is shared among my other friends as well (so far it's Se Ri, Hou, Haw & myself). It's kinda like a group drawing activity thingy. Please check out their drawings if you have the time. They are a talented bunch. Let's keep drawing, guys!

Apart from that, I'll put more photos here, since photography is fun.
No, I will not be writing much about my daily activities. Strictly photos!

And lastly, watch out for a sneak peak on a big game project that we're working on.

I've never made any new year resolution before.

My resolution is to stop worrying about the little things and enjoy life more.
