~ Street Fighter Tribute ~

When Udon announced the shipment of the Street Fighter Tribute book had commenced, you bet your ass I was waiting for it with huge anticipation! A few weeks had passed, and one day I look into my mailbox... heyyy.... what is that thing in there. A bit like a book right? Oh boy it's here!

or so I thought...

I'm not making this up.

Sooo fast forward to.... 4 months later? The real book finally reached my house! Yay!

Purrty. Although some might argue that the magazine was the better gift.

The book is really awesome. It's bloody huge. And thick as hell. Over 300 pages of artwork from people around the world! With single art print per page. Nice I say!

Well... I'm sure some of you (or maybe none) are curious on what I drew. Obviously I'm not the best illustrator in the world. So in order to get picked for the book, I knew I had to think of something more than just a drawing.

So here it is! Enjoy!

DO YOU LIKE IT?

It might not be apparent to some, but for my drawing, I wanted to pay a homage to not only the Street Fighter franchise but also to the legendary Capcom artist Akiman.
He drew a fantastic illustration of Street Fighter II when it came out.

This is actually the first image of Street Fighter that I saw. :)
And I'm sure fans of the series will always remember this classic group pic of burly men. So I thought why not use the same theme for the newer cast?
And presto, my creation was born. :)

It's nice to see a lot familiar illustrators in the book. Not to mention a couple of my fellow artist mates' works as well! And Malaysians? Yeah I spotted at least 3. :)
