He returns
Saturday 8 December 2007

I know I haven't updated my site for quite a while now. Truth be told, I'm having an extremely busy month this December. I gotta make a lot of preparations for something. For the time being, I can't say anything yet. But what I can say is I've never felt this excited for a long time. :)

I'm sure you've all missed my wonderful drawings. So I updated the Gallery with a couple more pics, some old, some new. Hope you like 'em.

Added 4 original works.

Added 4 fanarts.

I think that will suffice for now. Please stay tuned! Big announcement coming soon. :)

Friend from across the globe, I thank you!
Sunday 18 November 2007

This entry is for a guy named Henri Crouzet from France. Several weeks ago, I received an e-mail from him regarding my website. But unlike other e-mails, his one comes with an interesting request. He wanted a large format of some of my artworks, so that he could have them framed up in his apartment.

What can I say... I was very well flattered! I never thought of my works as exhibition material. Heck, I don't even put up my drawings in my own room (I'm a boring guy, like that). I was more than happy to oblige, so after a series of exchanging mails, he took home cream, maya and ilovecalamari (very cool choices, I might add :D).

Days passed before I heard from Henri again. And when he did, he came back with gifts: photos of the framed artworks! They're really awesome. Seeing my stuff in a different perspective really does change everything.

It's not everyday I have people hanging up my works in their homes. Even if it's just one person, that's more than enough to make me happy.

Cheers to you, Henri! Looks like drawing does have its finer moments. :)

Ballistic Wars won 3rd place!
Thursday 25 October 2007

The results are in! Ballsitic Wars has scored a third place out of the 28 finalists! [link] Not only that, our game also managed to receive 10% of the audience votes, making it the 2nd most voted game out of the lot.

What makes it even cooler is that we are the only Asian entry in the competition (out of the original 48 submissions). Go Malaysia! Sometimes we can.

I think Hazmer is especially happy with the outcome (me... I expected more haha). He already has big plans for the game. I will follow through and deliver my best.

The Ballistic Wars team (from L to R) - Nyin (interface designer),
Hazmer
(game creator), myself (animator).

Thank you everyone for playing. Thank you for the great feedback. Thank you for your votes. Thank you Jay for organizing the competition. Thank you Nyin for the beautiful interface. And of course, thank you Hazmer for making the kickass game. And for letting me be a part of it. ^___^

Oh... and thank you for all the fish.

s-s--s--S--S--STREET FIGHTER 4??!!?
~ time to change pants ~
Thursday 18 October 2007

Holy @!#$ I just have to post this. The sequel that nobody ever expected to see in a million years is actually making its gargantuan debut in the hopefully not-so-distant future. Being the Street Fighter nut that I am (or at least I used to be), this is the greatest news I've heard all day! ARGHH!!

Nothing much is revealed about the game yet. Only a trailer is released. And... my god, there are no words to describe how bloody awesome this trailer is.

Watch the orgasmic HD trailer here. If it loads too slow, the youtube alternative.

That's as badass as you can get with Ryu and Ken. FAST and RAW! Not to mention it wreaks with STYLE. I never imagined Street Fighter IV to look like this, but somehow after seeing the trailer, you just feel like there are no other better way to do it. Suffice to say, if this is the direction they're going for the 4th installment, then I'm fookin sold.

Move over, Starcraft 2. Here comes the mother of all sequels! >:D

Ballistic Wars goes to the finals!
Wednesday 17 October 2007

That's right, folks. Ballistic Wars has been chosen as one of the 28 finalists! [link] Now we have a chance to win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. There is also the "Best use of competition theme" prize and the "Audience award" prize. Can we win all?

Oooh yeah... Audience award. You too can vote for your favourite game (which is Ballistic Wars, of course). If you would like to vote, simply follow this [link] for further instructions. However, you need to donate via paypal for each vote. The total sum of money will then be awarded to the winner. A big thank you if you voted for ours. 8-)

Did you enjoy playing Ballistic Wars? If yes, then I implore you to try out our new updated version. It has a faster gameplay, sleeker interface, a whole bunch of new effects and the characters spew out even more nonsense now. Check it out! [link]

Alrite then. The winners will be announced next week. Cross fingers!

Ballistic Wars
Friday 12 October 2007

Easy Only! Games (and a little bit of daimation) presents... Ballistic Wars!

[-----------------game link------------------]

Designed for Jayisgames 4th Casual Game Design Competition, Ballistic Wars is a turn-based strategy game with an added ball physics twist.

The game is created by the genius mind of sir ahbonk, chief of Easy Only! Contrary to his company name, this game is pretty tough! I bloody suck at this (but then again, I suck at pool too, so... shit).

On my part, I designed the character portraits and units animation. They are all very happy and cute. So even if you don't like war-themed games, the colourful cast is guaranteed to convert you into a fan. 8-)

Ok enough rambling. Have a go at the game! If you like to give some feedback (and we do appreciate them), feel free to drop us a message (through daimation, easyonly!, or jayisgames). We are taking notes from the comments we've gotten so far, so hopefully most of the glitches will be fixed in the new version.

Good luck to all contestants, but I hope we win. :D

Stubbornly Opinionated Robot strikes again!
Friday 5 October 2007

Poor little Timmy. Well actually, nah.... screw him.

~~~~~~
A little update on myself. I've been doing a little collaborative project with ahbonk. Had a really fun time working on it. And.... well it's actually finished now. Woot. It will be shown very soon in the future. Please wait for it! :)
For the time being, I'll be giving the gallery a much needed update. Stay tuned.
